Grand Old Barn

The mission of the Grand Old Barn is to provide our clients with hand crafted / finished furniture and home furnishings that will be passed on from generation to generation. 

Our Business

After years of struggling to find quality furniture and home furnishings we 1) enjoy displaying in our home and 2) could actually afford; we decided to build them ourselves. 

Like so many people, Deb and I know what we like.  We like quality items which are not mass produced.  We like furniture that can withstand the abuse three boys (Billy Jon, & Mike) and their friends can inflict.  Not only does our furniture stand up to the test but like furniture of our great, great, great grand parents our furniture looks better with age and use.

After making several pieces for ourselves; our friends and family insisted we make items for them.  From that grew the GRAND OLD BARN.

When you visit the GRAND OLD BARN you will find unique furniture and home furnishings.  We don't mass produce anything so if you see something you like you better buy it as we may not build it again.

That being said, we will do custom work so if you really fall in love with one particular piece but the color, size or finish isn't just right, we will be more than happy to build for you the perfect piece for your home.

HOURS:

We are open by appointment or chance, whenever the "OPEN" Flag is flying we are open.

Who We Are

The Team at the Grand Old Barn consists of: Buck Tanner. 
Buck Tanner (above) friend and confidant.  Buck Tanner is always willing to spend time with me in the shop and loves to listen to me discuss new projects or problems I may be faced with. Loves Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flats.

Copper, AKA as the Devil Dog.  The most adorable beagle ever born.  BUT if he can get his teeth on it its gone.  Copper is 6'4'' and bullet proof, the toughest dog in the house(just ask him!).  Copper is without a doubt, 100% hunting stock beagle. 

Our guys, (left to right) Mike, Billy and Jon with me at our home.  Always willing to help out wheather its hauling lumber, building products or working the store. 

My wife Deb DePersis, best friend and love of my life.  Deb serves as finance director for the Grand Old Barn, finisher, lumber hauler whatever it takes.  The one who keeps my head on straight and gently reminds me that not all of my ideas are good ones! 

Me, Bill DePersis, Risk Management Consultant by day, Wood Worker at heart!  Designing, building and finishing solid wood furniture right here in my own shop provides me with a tremendous sense of pleasure.  Matching a customer's exact needs and wants to a specific piece we have created is like hitting a homerun at Yankee Stadium.
